Dr. Brovey is a freelance professor of technology delivering lively learning, engaging presentations, professional development and personal support. He’s helped educators and others to make sense and make use of technology for over 25 years. In 2010, Andy started iPad Academy, a blog and business devoted to helping others make the Apple tablet more functional and more fun. He offers training and advice to schools, non-profits, businesses and adult learners on how to use the iPad effectively and efficiently. He is the author of the ebook guide called iPad Academy: Tips, Tricks and Clever Techniques and the creator of the iPad Academy Master Class, an online video training series for learning more about the iPad.
Andy has led technology integration and support efforts as a Director of Instructional Technology in Pennsylvania and Virginia. He was a tenured faculty member at Valdosta State University (VSU) in Georgia, in the Department of Curriculum, Leadership, and Technology. At VSU he led graduate courses on site and at a distance, and served as an educational technology specialist on grant and service projects. Andy was a founding member of VSU's HUB Learning Cooperative for faculty development, and founder and leader of the iDoctors, a faculty group from the College of Education exploring the iPod ecosystem. In 2007, Andy was honored to be named an Apple Distinguished Educator.
